Still have a few questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

I want to visit the forest, can I drop in?

No! Burbrook Forest is on private property. Although we are in the Kuitpo region, we are separate from the Kuitpo Forest and public access is not permitted without an appointment. If you would like to visit contact us to make an appointment or ask us about our open days.

Can I have my ceremony and reception in the forest?

We are currently only offering hire for ceremonies. Please see our 'What we Offer' page for more details.

Is there parking in the forest?

Yes! Parking is available immediately on the right when you enter the gate. The Tree is a short walk from the parking area. To maintain the natural integrity of the forest, entry by cars beyond the parking area is only permitted for wedding cars and for disability access to The Tree.

What if I have guests that cannot walk to the tree?

That's easy! We allow any people who are older or who need mobility assistance to be driven right up to The Tree.

Does it get very hot in the forest?

Burbrook Forest fares very well in the warmer months. Inside the forest, it is cooler than other outdoor venues because direct sunlight is limited due to the lush forest canopy. In summer, it can be expected that the temperature will be 5 - 10 degrees cooler than the Adelaide forecast.

What do we do in wet weather?

As much as we would love to, we cannot control the weather! However, we do have you covered as we have umbrellas available for hire!

Where are the closest toilets?

We have no toilets onsite and the closest are around 4km away at the Kuitpo Forest HQ. We can assist you with toilet hire if you need them. Please contact us if you would like some further information!

Is there power in the forest?

No. There is no access to power in the forest. Most people find they don't need it for a ceremony as most celebrants have their own battery operated system. If you need to use a generator of any sort we just ask that you do so consultation with us.

What happens in fire season?

We are very conscious of the risks of fire. One of the conditions of the hire of Burbrook Forest is that there is to be complete compliance with any directions or warnings issued by the CFS.

In addition to this, we do not allow any smoking, candles, wood fires, heaters or exposed flames at any time of the year in Burbrook Forest. You are required to liaise with us if caterers are coming onsite to cook. We are also a no smoking venue.

Can we have confetti?

Sorry, but no! We are conscious of our footprint on the environment around us and we want to protect our forest from waste! For this reason, we do not allow confetti, rice, party poppers, rose petals or streamers. Cleaning fees apply if these are used.

Can we have wedding cars at Burbrook Forest?

What if I need to cancel?

See our Terms and Conditions Page for further information about our cancellation policy!

Yes, but you should check with your driver before you book. The forest floor is bumpy in parts with a few exposed tree roots and we also have a gravel driveway. There are also a few bends in the short path to the tree which are too sharp for limousines to manoeuvre. For this reason, we do not recommend hiring them.
